CHURCH COVENANT

Having received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, been baptized and being in agreement with Forever Community Church’s doctrine, covenant, and leadership. I now feel led by the Holy Spirit to joyfully unite with the church and commit myself to God and the other members to do the following:

 

1. I will SUPPORT the Testimony of my church

By faithfully attending the worship service (Heb 10:25)
By having personal study of God’s word (2 Tim 2:15; 1 Pet 2:2)

By living a godly life and resist sin (Phil 1:27; Rom 6:11-12)

 

2. I will SHARE the Responsibility of my church

By praying for one another and carrying each other’s burdens (1 Thes 1:2; Gal 6:2)

By giving regularly to advance the gospel (1 Cor 16:2)
By inviting guests and warmly welcoming them (Lk 14:23; Rom 15:7 NLT)

 

3. I will SERVE the Ministry of my church

By discovering my spiritual gifts and serve for God’s glory (1 Pet 4:10)

By being equipped for ministry by my leaders (Eph 4:11-12)
By developing a humble servant’s heart and mind (Phil 2:3-4; 7)

 

4. I will SAFEGUARD the Unity of my church

By being loving toward other members (Jn 13:34-35; Rom 15:5 NLT)

By refusing to spread negative talk (Eph 4:29)
By submitting to the leaders (Heb 13:17)

 

5. I will SETTLE the Disputes of my church

By being slow to anger and quick to listen; always ready for reconciliation and to forgive as Christ forgave us (Jam 1:19; 1 Co; 3:13)
By being gentle when we confront one another and receive correction humbly (Mt 18:15-17; 1 Cor 5:1-13)

By avoiding a contentious spirit if complete agreement cannot be achieved (2 Tim 2:14; 1 Cor 1:10-11)

 

As a member of Forever Community Church, I will fulfill the following expectations for our good and for God’s glory. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen
